CentriKid 2011 final post

We had such a great week at camp this year and were able to see God moving in the hearts of both the kids and the chaperones. We are so grateful for those who financially supported kids and those who were prayer warriors. We hope you enjoyed the photo album!

Day 2

Yesterday was such a fun day because it was the first day of tracks. Thankfully, all of our kids got the tracks they wanted. There were lots of cheers when they heard their track assignments on Monday night.

As you saw on the schedule in your Parent Pack, they keep us extremely busy. It seems like we're rushing from one thing to the next. But this can be a positive thing for the kids because we all know what can happen with idle hands. :D

The girls kicked off yesterday with a not-so-fun wake up call. Apparently a child in another group thought pulling the fire alarm would be funny. Not cool!

So far the meals have been great. The kids have especially loved the ice cream. But don't worry mom . . . we make sure they eat the "good" food first. We've been pleased that they are overemphasizing the need for lots of water at every meal.

Last night's worship time gave the final emphasis for yesterday's theme "God Provides Forgiveness" and we were blessed to have the opportunity to spend some great small group time with the kids afterward. Make sure you ask your kids about this because there have been some awesome decisions for God!

Day 2

It has been a great day & we have lots of pictures to share but internet here is giving me problems tonight. Sending this from my phone just to let everyone know it's been an exciting day for us all & we'll try again in the morning.

Day 1

It has been an interesting 1st day for sure! Praise the Lord we made great time on the road. We stopped in Forsyth, Ga for breakfast and in Norcross at Lucky Shoals Park for lunch.  We only had to make one additional stop at the SC welcome center to put on our FBC shirts. As soon as we got off the bus, the work began.  :-)   We got the suitcases unloaded in what felt like 112° weather. After that, we all got beds made & unpacked before heading to supper. Right after supper we rushed to Opening Ceremonies, then the kids all split up in their Bible study groups, returned for the nightly Party, went to Church group time to discuss track assignments & breakfast details. By now, everyone has taken a shower & made their phone calls & gone to bed. Praying everyone gets a great night's rest because we're all exhausted. Tomorrow starts bright & early with breakfast at 7:30am.

Almost there

We stopped at Lucky Shoals Park for lunch. It was a pretty nice park & gave us all a chance to stretch our legs. At 12:30pm as I send this, we only have about 100 miles to go. Lots of games have been played & we're all anxious to get there!

1st of the many camp posts for 2011

We leave this morning at 5am for what has to be the best year ever at CentriKid camp! I say that because we've encountered many obstacles including bus problems. But as I type this, it's coming down the road. So keep watching for more exciting posts!
