Recreation
1st day
We left the church just after 7am. We stopped just north of Valdosta for a quick treat from Daylight Donuts & to let the kids change into their camp shirts. We made it to McDonough, GA by 11:30am & enjoyed lunch at Truett's Grill (a replica of the original Chick-fil-A). The manager & staff were so friendly & waited on the kids so quickly. Just after lunch we had to stop for gas so we took the opportunity to decorate the bus & van windows (we'll post pictures later). We arrived at Shocco Springs about 2:30pm & were greeted in the usual Centri Kid format -- hijacking our bus and encouraging the kids to screem while they video taped them. LOL
By the time we unloaded all the luggage, it was time for supper. It was fun to spend some time with Jeff Slaughter over supper & for the kids to see some of the former CK workers from past years. We went straight from supper to Opening Activities which lasted until about 10pm. So the kids were rushed back to the rooms for showers and lights out. Sorry parents that not every child got to call tonight but it was a whirlwind of a night for everyone. We'll start calling in the morning so hopefully we won't wake anyone up to early. We have to be at breakfast by 7:30am so we'll start getting up at 6am.
Everyone is having a blast. No homesickness at all! Friendships are being strengthened and new friendships are being formed. God is already starting to work! Thanks for your prayers for safety. Keep praying for us!

Packing of the bags
I'm not sure if packing or unpacking is the hardest thing about camp! Sure hope nothing is forgotten! Is there anything not on the "What to Pack" list that you think is a great idea we should add for next year's list? If you comment here, another camper or parent might read it and be glad you commented.
